A signature project is an event that the chapter has been running for a number of years.  These projects help define our chapter and what we stand for.  Signature projects help us get our name in the community, encourage members to give back to others and get our members out meeting individuals in our community.  The goal of a signature project is for people to immediately know that when they see an Egg Hunt or a Forest of Fear sign, they know that it is being run because of the Kentwood Jaycees!

A few years back the Wyoming/Kentwood Chamber of Commerce started an annual Santa Parade.  The Kentwood Jaycees were one of the first organizations to get involved!  Our chapter attends this event each year by providing a float and walkers.  It’s great for us to get out into the community and fun to see everyone getting ready for the holiday season!

West Michigan's Preimer Haunted Attraction!
The Forest of Fear was created by the Kentwood Jaycees in 2000! This event is the chapter’s largest fundraiser, bringing in money to help us run great programs for the community and allows us to give back!  The event is run completely by volunteers!

The Forest of Fear is an interactive haunted attraction located deep in the woods of Caledonia, Michigan. Each year between 5,000-9,000 people visit this haunted event! It is the largest outdoor haunted event in the Grand Rapids area.  Your group will wind its way through a quarter mile of haunted woods, never knowing what might be just around the corner!  It’s a truly unique experience that has become an October tradition for many Greater Grand Rapids residents, even bringing in people from out of state!  This is something you won’t want to miss!

Learn more on the Forest of Fear at our website web site. http://www.forestoffear.com

There is also an opportunity for other community groups/organizations to volunteer and earn money!  Contact us to get involved!

The City of Kentwood celebrates the 4th of July with an annual parade.  Each year the Kentwood Jaycees work hard to put together a float to take part in this event.  We hand out candy to parade viewers and hand out flyers about upcoming events.  This is a fantastic way for us to get involved in the community and have a great time!
