Every 4th Friday of the month we get together for friendship and spirits!  This year we’re going to On The Border near the Woodland Mall in Kentwood.  The chapter will provide light appetizers.  Feel free to come whenever you get out of work and bring your co-workers, friends, or whomever you’d like.  This is just an evening to get together and have fun.  Contact the Membership V.P. for more information.

Wii nights are held throughout the year at our clubhouse to have some family fun!  All members and their families are invited to play on 2 different Wii systems set-up with lots of room to move.  This is FREE to all.  Our first Wii Night for 2010 is March 31st.  Look for another one later in the year as these can be very popular!

Conventions

State conventions are held each quarter to award the most outstanding chapters from the previous quarter and to offer trainings, and a way to get together with Jaycees from across the state and sometimes the world.  Members going to convention for the first time can go fore FREE!  Just register online and you will be reimbursed up to $60 of the registration fee.  Early full registration is almost always $60.  Full registration includes your meals.  Basic registration gets you into everything but meals.

The first convention for 2010 is April 30-May 2 at Boyne Mountain.  You can register for all conventions at www.mijaycees.org.  Be sure to let the chapter know that you are registered so you are added to the room list.  We share hotel rooms and condo’s to cut back on costs.
2nd Quarter Convention is August 13-15 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing.
3rd Quarter Convention is November 5-7 at the Valley Plaza Resort in Midland.
4th Quarter/Year-end Convention has yet to be determined.

Each spring the Kentwood Jaycees get a group together to play softball. We participate in the Kentwood Parks and Recreation Co-Ed Monday Night League. In 2008 we ended up with a fairly good team. We ended our season in third place! If you would like to participate in this Softball team you should consider joining the Kentwood Jaycees! Your softball league fees are paid for with your membership dues!

Jaycee Creed

We Believe:
That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;
That government should be of laws rather than of men;
That earth's great treasure lies in human personality;
And that service to humanity is the best work of life.
